FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
ASCM'96
Asian Symposium on Computer Mathematics
August 20-22, 1996 Kobe, Japan

JSSAC (Japan Society for Symbolic and Algebraic Computation)
The Symposium on Computer Mathematics is an international forum for
the exchange of ideas and techniques for doing mathematics by computer.
It will be held in _Asian_ countries and regions.
The Asian Symposium on Computer Mathematics (ASCM'96), organized by
Japan Society for Symbolic and Algebraic Computation (JSSAC) and
Mathematics Mechanization Research Center (MMRC) will be held in Kobe,
August 20-22, 1996. Papers presenting original research on all aspects
of computer mathematics are sought.
TOPICS OF THE MEETING include, but are not limited to:
symbolic computations, mechanical theorem proving,
computational geometry, combined symbolic/numeric method,
applications of symbolic computations
in eduacation and other fields, and software design.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: Authors are requested to send their papers by air
mail or e-mail to the following address:

A submission should be prepared in required Latex format and the
length, excluding cover page and bibliography should not exceed 16 pages.
The title should include the contact author's name, address, telephone
number and e-mail address if available.
An abstract must be received by
the end of January, 1996,
or it risks rejection without consideration of merit. Simultaneous
submission of essentially the same paper to another conference with
published proceedings is not allowed.
NOTIFICATION: Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection by the
program committee chairs by a letter mailed by the end of April, 1996.
MEETING FORMAT: Authors of accepted papers will be expected to present
their work at the Symposium. There will be a small number of researchers
invited to speak on topics of general interest to the conference.
