In a research project at the Institute for computer science of Freie Universität Berlin funded by DFG (German Research Association) a full time position as

Research Associate (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)

for 2 years is available.

Candidates for this position need to have a doctorate or the equivalent to the German University Diploma (e.g. M.S.) in Computer Science or Mathematics. Their scientific background should be in the field of Algorithms, preferably computational geometry. In addition to the work in the project candidates without a Ph.D. will have the opportunity to work towards a doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin.

Subject of the project are theoretical investigations and implementations of algorithms for analyzing, comparing, and simplifying shapes and patterns with methods from computational geometry. The salary rate is according to the federal contract for employees (BAT IIa). Candidates without a doctorate need to have certain special qualifications to get the full rate.
