At the Institute for Computer Science of Freie Universität Berlin full and half time positions as

Research Associate (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)

for maximally 5 years are available.

Candidates for this position need to have a doctorate or the equivalent to the German University Diploma (e.g. M.S.) in Computer Science or Mathematics. Their scientific background should be in the field of algorithms, preferably computational geometry. Candidates without a Ph.D. will have the opportunity to work towards a doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin.

One of these positions is within a research project funded by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). Subject of the project are theoretical investigations and implementations of algorithms for analyzing, comparing, and simplifying shapes and patterns with methods from computational geometry. The other two positions are regular ones from FU Berlin and involve teaching and research duties.

The salary rate is according to the federal contract for employees (BAT IIa), candidates without a doctorate need to have certain special qualifications to get a full time position.
