Topics:
Eight years after the first successful event in Blaubeuren,
this conference will again provide a forum for mathematicians, system
developers, and system users to exchange new concepts on geometric
modeling. The conference will focus on the theoretical and practical
advances in computer modeling and processing of geometric
information. New mathematical concepts will be emphasized, as well as
representational extensions and algorithmic improvements to currently
available schemes. Topics include but are not limited to:
-Mathematical foundations of CAGD and solid modeling
-Geometry in higher dimensions
-The role of algebraic geometry in geometric modeling
-Algorithms for surface-surface and curve-surface intersections
-Different representations of solids (CSG, boundary, octree,
finite element meshes ...) and conversions from one
representation to another
-Extensions of CSG (New primitives and operations)
-Construction, representation and manipulation of solids
bounded by free form surfaces -Triangulations of solid objects
-Practical experiences with existing solid modellers in the industrial
world
-Future demands on the design capabilities of geometric modeling
systems from a practical point of view
-Interactive interrogation of geometric models
-Variational Design
-Parameterization and high level specification of solids and assemblies
(dimensions, constraints,features)
-Performance requirements and implementational issues of interactive
geometric modellers
-Hardware support for geometric modeling
Participation:
Approximately 30 reviewed papers will be presented
during the conference. Participants will be limited to about 70, based
on invitation. Intended authors and participants are invited to submit
5 copies of an extended abstract or position paper (not exceeding 1000
words excluding references and figures) before
April 30, 1996
to the address given below. The abstract should contain the author's
affiliation and a brief bibliography. Only original, previously
unpublished material will be accepted. Notification of acceptance for
presentation and participation will be given during
May, 1996.
Proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag. Typing instructions
will be sent after acceptance of your paper. Final camera-ready papers
must arrive in T"ubingen no later than
June 24, 1996.
Costs:
There will be a combined registration/application fee for this
conference covering registration, proceedings, accomodation in the
Heinrich Fabri Institut and full board. The rates for the whole
conference are as follows:
Single room: DM 980.-
Double room: DM 880.-
All rooms with shower and WC.
Additional Information:
Extended abstracts and position papers as well
as any requests for additional information should be sent to:
