OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE
======================================================
The conference aims at gathering together outstanding educators,
professionals and researchers in Graphic Science, and will comprise
invited lectures, panels, videos and papers reviewing, presenting
a state of the art, discussing future directions or reporting new
results on the respective fields. It will be open to contributors
from all ranks and from over the world. The conference is not simply
a 'computer graphics' meeting but a truly all-encompassing event on
all aspects and sub-areas of Graphics/Graphic Science. Contributions
will be properly refereed by the Program Committee. This review process
should not deter new researchers from submitting work in developing areas,
as such fresh insights will be welcomed. A selection of compatible papers
may be made to appear in various scientific journals. The proceedings
will constitute a registered publication by GRASP and/or another international
publisher. An exhibition of publications, graphics vendors and computer art is
also planned to take place concurrently. A tutorial program will also be offered.
The main theme and emphasis of this fifth edition of "Compugraphics" is
Visualization and Graphics on the World Wide Web. There will be invited
lectures and tutorials on this hot topic. All types of contributions on the
subject are especially solicited and very much welcome.
Other topics include : Technical Drawing, Engineering Graphics, Descriptive
Geometry, Theoretical Graphics and Classical Geometry, Computational Geometry,
Geometric Modeling, CAGD, Computer and Computational Graphics, Image Synthesis
and Processing, Art, CADD, CAI, CAD/CAE, CAAD, GIS, Industrial and Engineering
Design, Finite Element and other Numerical Methods, Artificial Intelligence and
Expert Systems, Scientific Visualization, Standards, Systems/Software, Human-Computer
Interaction, Physically-based Modeling, Animation, Natural Scene Simulation,
Virtual Reality and Fractals.

SUBMISSION OF CONTRIBUTIONS
=============================================================
Submissions should be sent to (see adresses above) :
English-speaking countries : Huw Jones
Non-English-speaking countries : Harold Santo
There will be two main groups of contributions : refereed and
unrefereed (simply reviewed). The refereed papers will be marked as
such in proceedings and may be considered for publication in reputed
journals, and, as far as possible, in other publications. Contributions
are expected to cover a range including technical research, applications,
educational aspects and other interesting contributions in the form of
panels and demonstrations.
Papers for review/refereeing must be submitted in full so that they are
received by the program chairs on or before the firm deadline of 15
September. This will give time for the review process before confirmation
of acceptance.
The final confirmation of acceptance will be given on or before 31 October.
Final versions of refereed papers (two copies) in camera ready form, will be
required on or before the deadline of 17 November. This firm deadline is needed
to arrange for printing of the proceedings.
The full version of contributions in the unrefereed category (demonstrations,
panels) will be reviewed and any necessary corrections or changes will be
communicated accordingly.
Contributions can only be submitted via snail mail in any suitable format.
Fax and e-mail versions will not be accepted.
The manuscript must contain new and unpublished materials and must not have
been submitted simultaneously for possible publication in another conference
or a periodical.
Authors from non-English-speaking countries should have the text thoroughly
reviewed by somebody whose native language is English (at least by someone
very fluent in the language).
Papers may be submitted in GRASP's format specified in its "Guidelines for
Camera Ready Manuscripts". These and LaTeX-style files can be sent on request.
However, please note that the actual *final* format depends on the negotiations
being carried out with international publishers, and will be transmitted with
the acceptance note.
Companies, institutions, labs, publishers, etc, wanting to participate in the
exhibition should send the participation form to the general chairman via fax,
electronic or snail mail. More details will be provided afterwards.
