This is an archive of all updates to the Computational Geometry Pages
since I started recording them. Changes less a month old are archived
elsewhere. This is highly unlikely to be of interest to
anyone but me (if even that), especially since most of these links no
longer work.
Events/deadlines:
Extended deadline for geombib (17 Nov 97),
IPCO '98 (30 Nov 97),
ISSAC '98
(20 Jan 98),
SWAT '98 (15 Feb 98),
ESA '98 (17 Mar 98),
deleted link to news.announce.conferences archives
The new Computational Geometry Steering Comittee members are Nina Amenta, Bernard
Chazelle, Herbert Edelsbrunner, Joe O'Rourke, and Mark Overmars.
Congratualations! (Here's the
list of nominees and the
original announcement.)
It's a grid! It's a terrain! It's
Super Delaunay!
(Sorry.)
02-03 Apr 97:
Journals: electronic contents for
DCG (finally!) and
Algorithmica, marked free electronic journals (since they're
outnumbered by the ones you have to pay for)
Jobs: Added
Yale. Expired several job announcements. (I don't know whether the two
remaining postdocs have been filled yet.) New URL for
Kaplan's CS
faculty position archive
Deleted dingbats
from pages with tables, since "everybody" uses Netscape or IE now, but made sure
pages that require frames are clearly marked.
After months of waffling, I finally decided to anti-recommend
Laszlo's book.
(Don't waste your money. I'm only including it for the sake of completeness.)
Updated pointers to
Ken Clarkson's code, since his pointers don't seem to work consistently.
Some files are compressed if you access them through netlib, but not if
you go directly through csrc. Weird.
Using every search engine I could get my hands on, I searched the Web for the
words "computational geometry". Curiously, no two search engines returned even
remotely similar results!
Added new pointer to
Elsevier journals. (Either these people don't talk to each other enough, or
they have a policy of extreme redundancy. For example, see
here,
here,
here,
or even here
for tables of contents of
TCS.)
